Southern California Weather Force has issued a Thunderstorm Watch effective now through later tonight …

Thunderstorms are expected to develop in the strong fast moving upper divergent region of a cutoff low moving into the area today.  This cutoff low will have a flow from north to south .. so storms will form over the mountains/deserts and move along the jet into the remaining Kern County areas.  Because of the moisture depth, storm movement, and placement of the upper level low’s divergent zone … have included the Eastern San Luis Obispo Inner Valleys as well …

Lightning, hail, and strong winds can accompany these storms … along with localized flooding …
