Site:  SouthernCaliforniaWeatherForce.com has issued a Weather Advisory effective now through Friday …

Date:  12/29/16 at 5:00m PT

Forecast: A cutoff low southwest of the area will move in overnight and through Friday.  The low will bring enough mid-level moisture and lift to the region for on and off showers … and even the risk of thunderstorms.

Heavy rainfall is expected in the Tehachapi and Barstow forecast areas as well .. but it’ll rain just about anywhere in the advisory area.  Since it is a cutoff low plan for a regional forecast of;

On and off showers and embedded thunderstorms at times.

A stronger storm comes in on Saturday … Article here

NOTE:  If you are in Northern/Western San Luis Obispo County you’ll see way less precipitation than other areas …

10 mile rule:  These alerts issued on this site means that within your zone and 10 miles from you will see the event forecast for.  You may or may not see the event but it means you are in the zone or 10 miles from where someone will.
