Winter Weather Advisory

by
19Shares

Issued Zones:  Kern County Mountains … Santa Barbara and Ventura Mountains … Gorman Pass …

Site:  Southern California Weather Force has issued a Winter Weather Advisory effective now through Sunday night …

Date:  3/9/19 at 2:50pm PT

Forecast: A cold system will start affecting the area later this evening, but peak on your Sunday.  The snow level will be around 4,000 FT with it and thus all mountain pass regions from Gorman to Tehachapi will be affected.  A good 2-4″ of snow is likely for the PMC/Tehachapi areas while 4-6″ looks about right for the Frazier Park zones due to a stronger lift component over that one area.

A chance of thunderstorms is also in my forecast, thus thundersnow is possible …

The snowfall model is in the link below saying additional models … Find the ‘snow’ tab …

Am watching the return of some snowfall on a weakening front later on Tuesday as well.
