The April 2021 article released on April 2nd clearly stated we would have a cooler coast, average inland, and warmer than normal temperature profile this month. The following image shows that…
The article (click here) also stated we would see a sizeable storm this month into the region. We do have an inside slider for the end of the week, centering Thursday the 22nd, but the monitoring of a buckling storm pattern is now beginning for the week of the 26th where a deep Pacific Ocean trough is expected to carve into the California region. Whether we get it down here will be monitored, but for sure the areas up north will see a strong system. I’m still confident we can get a sizeable system down in our forecast area before the month is over.
But, with the coming cutoff system, the effects from it will be felt by Wednesday with the deeper low cloud deck, drizzle/light showers for LA/OC/SD/IE, followed by the main system in the same affected areas on Thursday, added into the local mountains, high desert, and Kern Mountain regions. There is also a risk of thunderstorms in the forecast area then, locations and alerts to be determined.
