Premium members, this is your preliminary July 4th forecast so you know how to plan into it so read on for details.
The rest of this month will be similar to a see-saw pattern where we are in the middle of a major heatwave right now for all Inland areas and getting slight relief Friday and Saturday and then a ramp up in temps again for Sunday and Monday of this next week … before cooling down again toward the end of the month.
Usually Independence Day is hit and miss weather-wise … we could get monsoon moisture, cooler weather, or major heat depending on the year. In the past we’ve seen all modes of weather, except for snow in our mountains of course. So what will July 4th hold?
Given that the ridge over us is going to break-down, the atmosphere will respond with cooler temperatures. Out of over 50 of my model tweak calculations I am seeing colder than normal temperatures in all sectors of Southern California for this period. Given this, afternoon/evening activities will remain comfortable … non-threatening in terms of any heat concerns. This will all be due to a trough over the West Coast, which will bring very nice temperatures and a lack of ridge. This is something to look forward too … however if you enjoy the heat with pool-time on this day it will not be something to look forward to.
Don’t worry about not having heat for pool-time once again … A few days after the 4th my numbers are showing a spike in heatwave patterns once again and we will once again bake … as this will be the norm for this Summer.
