Forecast: Upper level divergence and very unstable air is moving in and already popped thunderstorms off in the Northern Inland Empire zones surrounding the Cajon Pass .. However latest lightning data shows storms south of San Diego and these will move into the SD Mountains and up through the Riverside Mountains into Big Bear and jet north from there into the Lucerne Valley to Barstow/Ludlow and Baker areas through Thursday morning …

Storms in this sector will affect the Morongo Basin and Eastern Inland Empire, with the Coachella Valley in-between.

Storms will contain frequent lightning, larger hail … strong winds … and the potential for isolated tornadic activity.
