Forecast: Very strong upper divergence coupled with PVA will move into the region overnight tonight and into your Thursday morning across the Kern/LA Mountains to the entire High Desert Metro areas. 

This will up the thunderstorm risk and it could very well be one of the largest lightning shows in 20 years up there so expect this show to be visible even from far away (if you’re in LA/OC/IE/VT/etc … ) …

In addition to the frequent lightning, hail, damaging winds, and even isolated tornadoes may be possible overnight …  Additional thunderstorm action will happen over the afternoon/evening on Thursday for the same areas …
