October 2018 Monthly Weather Forecast For Southern California

It is that time of month to bring the long range guns forecast out!  September 2018’s forecast went pretty well.  We had below normal temperatures in the metro areas with average to slightly above average in the deserts.  What will October bring?  Read on!

October 2018 will bring an entire area of cooler than normal temperatures and average to above average rainfall for Downtown Los Angeles, where records are officially kept.  0.6″ of rain is all we need to have average October rainfall there.

The rest of the month will have swing temperatures with warm/cold conditions with cold conditions being the beginning half and warmer conditions being the second half.  The month is truly a flip-flop month.  With the second half being warmer it is a signal of a chance of offshore flow (Santa Ana Wind Patterns).  Those will be monitored.

The end month into beginning November would be the time where we would get a chance of an upswing in rain activity once again so very similar in timing to the start of this month being a rain pattern.

Downtown Los Angeles’ rainfall would be between 0.5″ and 1.5″ in my forecast.. along with slightly below average temperatures when the entire month is said and done.. and averaged out.
