Well for some of you in the mountains, deserts, and the Inland Empire areas you’ll be treated to widespread shower and thunderstorm activity, with an interesting setup happening overnight tonight into tomorrow (Thursday) morning … and some of you will just continue baking … so read on for those details …

The ridge axis is buckling a bit today and as we sit on the Southwest side of it the upper divergence from both the ridge and the upper trough coming in out of the west will reduce capping today, tonight, and through tomorrow to allow for widespread thunderstorm activity.

Today, the mountains and deserts will see it … mainly through the Riverside, Los Angeles, Kern, Ventura, and San Bernardino County Mountains, with some influence near the Banning/Hemet/Yucaipa zones in the Eastern Inland Empire, northward into the High Desert zones, including Kern, LA, Victor Valley zones …

But tonight something interesting will happen.  The ridge axis buckles and allows for upper divergence to develop over the same areas hit today … but also adding in the entire Inland Empire zones all the way to even Chino, Corona, Yorba Linda? … So we may very well be looking at a widespread shower or thunderstorm activity in the metro areas of the Inland Empire overnight tonight through morning Thursday.  Hey all this heat has to give into something, right?

The heat will continue as it has been through this weekend and into this next week .. .and so will the humidity. In fact so much that we may be looking at more coastal zones getting in on the thunderstorm activity as we deepen the end of the 2017 Monsoon Season ….
