A Santa Ana Wind Advisory has been issued here at Southern California Weather Force as a dry frontal zone moves across the area overnight tonight.  This will generate 30-50 mph wind gusts below passes and canyons. Metro temperatures with this offshore flow pattern will be in the 70s so expecting this to be a nice week ahead.  Use the images below with the Martin Wind Intensity Scale Model to see what it will be like on Tuesday in your area

5. Slight damage occurs to buildings, shingles are blown off of roofs. HIGH WIND WARNING CRITERIA – High Profile Vehicle Roll-Over Possible if weight is not corrected.

4. Twigs and small branches are broken from trees, walking is difficult. BLOWING DUST CRITERIA if in an area known for blowing dust.

3. Large trees sway, becoming difficult to walk. POWER SHUTDOWN THRESHOLD during any high fire risk. WIND ADVISORY CRITERIA

The next chance of rain will be on Friday as an upper level system moves into the area.  It is not expected to do what the other one did and sit around for days.  It is being pushed very quickly through the area and will do a hit it and quit move on the Southland.  The rest of the month still looks like a see-saw pattern with cold and warm and wet and dry swings.  There are no major storms expected for the rest of the month.  If we do not get much more rainfall, we will end the season at just below average to average precipitation.  The last system brought 3″ of rainfall to Los Angeles for the month, which brought us to just near normal for the year.
