The predictive radar blend goes from today, tonight, into tomorrow. This image in this update shows that anywhere from the OC, Inland Empire, San Diego areas, east to the low desert will see the increase in activity. Mid-upper level clouds are moving in now over the mountains, hampering instability somewhat. Convective temp is only 90F today so it won’t take long for activity to pop. Still think it’s a good bet along the SD/RIV/SBD Mountain areas.
Do feel that the east to west flow could bring them off the mountains into the valley/coastal areas …
HOWEVER, the main thing being watched is the northeast quadrant of the upper level system, Andreas … which starts activity in the Imperial to San Diego area overnight tonight, spreading through the night into Tuesday morning into Orange County and the Inland Empire … This is the area being watched more than anything because it has the lifting factors and divergence to produce the activity expected.
