[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Issued Zones: All Mountain areas above 4,000 FT …
Site: SouthernCaliforniaWeatherForce.com has issued a Winter Storm Watch effective now for Sunday night into Monday …
Date: 3/5/16 at 5:50pm PT
Forecast: potent storm system will reach the forecast area behind the first front now about to hit San Luis Obispo and Vandenberg AFB tonight.
The secondary system is much stronger and colder, with snow levels in the center of the front dropping below 5,000 FT and this means that a potent, strong, and lower type elevation snow event is going to be likely over Sunday and into Monday.
The system will bring 1-2″ per hour snowfall totals and these high snowfall rates will make for quick accumulations so driving is not recommended …
Amounts are not fully seen at the moment and on Sunday the snowfall maps will be available in the member section of the website so you can grab them there and determine it.
A Winter Storm Watch means that this service is seeing the potential for heavy snowfall that could bring gusty winds, higher accumulations in a short period of time, and zero visibility and an upgrade to warning will be possible over the next 24-36 hours.
10 mile rule: These alerts issued on this site means that within your zone and 10 miles from you will see the event forecast for. You may or may not see the event but it means you are in the zone or 10 miles from where someone will.
