Thunderstorm Watch

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Issued Zones:  Eastern SLO County … Western Kern County … VT/LA/SBD Mountains … Gorman Pass and Pine Mountain Club … Southern High Desert Metro from LA/SBD County Deserts …  Northern LA Valley/Basin … Northern Inland Empire zones …

Site:  SouthernCaliforniaWeatherForce.com has issued a Thunderstorm Watch effective now through the rest of today …

Date:  3/29/16 at 8:10am PT

Forecast: A strong area of upper divergence with a meandering upper level cutoff low in the region will swing through the area this afternoon through early night … and this setup does mean that onshore flow will work into the mountain areas to be the convergence boundary for thunderstorm activity, some of those with credible hail.

Movement of these storms will be slowly to the east for the most part and this could affect the High Desert zones from the Antelope Valley through Lucerne Valley, with the Apple/Victor Valley zones included.

Because the mountains are included in this, an embedded winter storm warning is within this with heavy snowfall and it is quite possible that over 6+ inches of snow with the snowfall rates of 2+” per hour will be possible in the LA/SBD Mountains under any thunderstorm so thundersnow is possible.

This will weaken through the later night …

10 mile rule:  These alerts issued on this site means that within your zone and 10 miles from you will see the event forecast for.  You may or may not see the event but it means you are in the zone or 10 miles from where someone will.
