Discussion: What looks likely the largest thunderstorm producing storm this season will hit this evening and overnight to Friday. Strong upper divergence from a diving upper level low out of the northwest, similar to the early Valentine’s Day storm will produce severe thunderstorms across the watch area. Most of this should be rain in the mountain areas until after it passes with the colder air moving in and instability out. Frequent Lightning, Isolated Tornadoes, Hail, Damaging Winds, and Flooding will all be in the cards. This is an exclusive forecast for severe thunderstorms here at SCWF you won’t see elsewhere so enjoy the show and stay safe.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is issued at Southern California Weather Force when conditions are possible for severe thunderstorms, covering over 50% of the watch zone, with damaging winds of over 50 mph and large hail in the stronger storms.
