Southern California Weather Force has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective New Years Day.
Zones affected: Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo County, and Western Inland Empire.
Instability within the upper divergence or lift zone will bring scattered thunderstorm cells into the watch zone. Localized chance of damaging winds and an isolated tornado scenario will play out as a result.
