September 2017 Long Range Forecast; Premium Members Only Post

September 2017 will be an usual one, similar to what we saw in August as August was also an unusual month for the season we are in but all members read on for details … If you are not a member you’ll want to be one for the coming season updates as Meteorological Fall Starts September 1st!

While the August 2017 forecast went flawlessly, predicting the times of the month it would be coldest, warmest, and wettest … even the monsoonal intrusion for the end of the month … so what does September have?

Well we seem to have interesting setup with deeper troughs into the forecast area … with two event intrusions coming up as we move into the end of the second week … and then again after mid-month.

These deeper troughs would work with tropical moisture and storms to our south and draw them closer to the forecast area… given this … above average precipitation is possible for the month of September, along with mostly below average to normal temperature conditions with a heatwave for the beginning of the month, breaking down to colder than average as we move deeper into the month and get more precipitation.

Mammoth Mountain’s first snowfall will be a window between September 17th-25th …

Coldest Period – 20th-30th

Hottest Period – 2nd – 10th

Wettest Period – 12th-17th
