Usually I base a fire weather warning alert on Santa Ana Winds and/or dry and warm with gusty conditions, but social aspect is being factored in so I will prepare the southland for it now.  A Fire Weather Warning has been issued here at Southern California Weather Force for the 4th of July so read on for details.

This forecast is for anywhere 10 miles from the ocean in the inland areas only, which does also include all mountain areas.  Because of the cancellation of firework shows and large gatherings, the likelihood of fireworks blasting off has increased 1000x for the 4th of July.  Some will do it in defiance of Newsom as Independence Day marks American Freedom.

So, with that being said, the warm/dry and sometimes gusty conditions on the 4th of July for all areas 10 miles or more from the coast are on this warning.  If you are within that then please treat this like a Santa Ana Wind scenario.  Clear the brush around your home and make sure nothing is around to catch fire easily.  Given the circumstances of the 4th of July, we will have a number of fires surrounding this date … set by fireworks in neighborhoods or the surrounding mountain/hillsides.
