[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Issued Zones:  The Inland Empire … LA/SBD Mountains … High Desert …

Site:  Southern California Weather Force has issued a Thunderstorm Watch effective now through Thursday …

Date:  8/30/17 at 5:45pm PT

Forecast: While the zone did see some thunderstorms in spots today, minus Corona/Norco/Ontario … this watch will go through the overnight and into Thursday.   Overnight tonight the high pressure ridge will buckle and thus produce upper lifting in the watch area.

The best areas will be in the Western and Northern Inland Empire with less in the southern sections through Thursday morning … This zone should develop over Corona and train northward through the Ontario regions.   It also will affect the nominal storm zones of the LA/SBD Mountains and High Desert areas with a western cut off for dry weather over Lancaster.

Now what about the rest of the area?  A strong easterly component on Thursday will generate widespread thunderstorms across most of the watch zones, and be even worse than today in the Inland Empire.  Storm motion should be out of the east to the west.

10 mile rule:  These alerts issued on this site means that within your zone and 10 miles from you will see the event forecast for.  You may or may not see the event but it means you are in the zone or 10 miles from where someone will.
