[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Issued Zones:  Kern County Deserts … Tehachapi Mountains … and Bakersfield Valley forecast zones …

Site:  Southern California Weather Force has issued a Thunderstorm Watch effective now through this evening …

Date:  9/4/17 at 12:40pm PT

Forecast: eft-over monsoon moisture across the Kern Desert, Mountain, and even Bakersfield’s forecast area will remain in place this afternoon and evening.  A small impulse moving through the mid-levels will set off storms near Kramer Junction during this period, moving over or near California City and into the Kern County Mountains.

These will travel NW across the watch box zones and either impact Bakersfield head on … or it’ll be just outside the city limits to the north or south.

Given what I see here, I’ve decided to issue this watch … lightning, gusty winds, heavy rainfall for localized flooding … will all be possible with this storm complex.  It will be the only general complex in the area moving through … The watch will expire later this evening …

10 mile rule:  These alerts issued on this site means that within your zone and 10 miles from you will see the event forecast for.  You may or may not see the event but it means you are in the zone or 10 miles from where someone will.
