Southern California: Watching Dynamics Ridge and Storm Pattern Around Halloween

I’m watching a storm pattern around Halloween still as my October 2017 forecast is batting 100% so far so this is being watched carefully.  Read on for details …

The pattern is about to turn highly dynamic.  What that means is a ridge of high pressure that will give us very hot temperatures in the metros through mid-week will be in place.  On the east and west side of such a ridge are two cold troughs of low pressure, a storm pattern.

This typically means that once this ridge moves west into the Pacific Ocean we could very well set the pattern up for an arctic type system to come around the top of it through Alaska and down through Western Canada and into the Southwestern United States.  Such patterns are highly dynamic and rare but it is being watched.

My October 2017 Forecast (Click Here To Read It) clearly stated that between the 20th-25th we would see the hottest temperatures.  Now this is correct and it says the end month would be a storm pattern.  In order for my October 2017 forecast to be correct this has to happen.

My numbers on an experimental model project jumped from 15% yes to 40% yes in 24 hours from yesterday to today.  This clearly is pegging increasing chances that such a pattern would happen.

A dynamic pattern like that would bring an inside slider system straight down into our region around Halloween, give or take a day on each side.  This is the pattern being watched right now …  Should the ridge be too far east we’ll be missed.
