Site:  Southern California Weather Force has issued a Winter Storm Warning effective Tuesday …

Date:  1/8/18 at 11:05am PT

Forecast: Major Pacific Storm NIKITA will bring the main impacts for this warning starting Tuesday morning and lasting into the evening hours.  Latest snow level calculations here at Southern California Weather Force suggests high snow levels still above 9,000 FT before the frontal zone hits.  However after sunrise as the front starts to exit the region, we will drop those snow levels to 6,000 FT with non-sticking snow as low as 5,000 FT with heavy intensity expected for a brief period of time.

Through the day expecting snow levels to hover near the 6,000 FT level and the secondary round coming in could provide the risk of thunderstorms with snow, aka thundersnow over the day on Tuesday.   Very gusty winds will accompany both impulses …

Onyx Summit – 10-14″
West End Of Big Bear Lake – 10-14″
