Severe Weather Statement

24Shares

Issued Zones:  The Inland Empire … Orange County Mountain/Foothill zones to Yorba Linda.

Site:  Southern California Weather Force has issued a Severe Weather Statement effective now for Saturday

Date:  7/6/18 at 8:45pm PT

Forecast: Outflow from storms in Arizona will reach the Inland Empire on Saturday.  Instability developing with this and upper divergence coming in will make it likely for thunderstorms to develop, some of which will be scattered to widespread.

This severe weather statement is the first product before any thunderstorm watches that would need to go out.

Severity is unknown at the moment and some of these storms will contain heavy rainfall, hail, frequent lightning, and gusty winds.  Some will have them directly overhead while others a city over may have nothing.  That is how these work.
