Tornado Watch

Issued Zones:  Coast/Metros of Ventura, Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego County …

Site:  Southern California Weather Force has issued a Tornado Watch effective now for Thanksgiving, starting morning …

Date:  11/27/19 at 6:30pm PT

Forecast: A powerful upper level low will dig southward overnight tonight and maximize over the morning/afternoon on Thursday.  Shear profiles suggests that with marginal instability in the watch area, mainly along and a bit inland from the coast, that thunderstorms will be likely on Thanksgiving and with those thunderstorms some low-topped supercell activity will happen and thus the risk does elevate for tornado dynamics to enter themselves in the equation.

Tornadic activity will weaken as you move more inland and out of the watch zone.  The line extends from Ventura along the coast to San Diego.  Hail will also accompany these storm cells and gusty winds will accompany San Diego.  The image below is the SCWF Tornado Zone Model for isolated activity.

The Flood Warning will take care of the inland areas so Click Here to read that …
