Issued Zones:  Kern Deserts, Antelope Valley, Metro High Desert, Morongo Basin, including the Cajon Pass …

Site:  Southern California Weather Force has issued a Winter Storm Warning effective tonight through Thursday evening for a once in every 10-15 year storm system for the region …

Date:  12/25/19 at 8:50am PT

Forecast: A powerful and cold arctic system will move into the region between 10pm Christmas Night and 10pm on Thursday.  This 24 hour period is when the chance of snow will be the highest.  There were some indications it could go south as it is a cutoff but I have stuck to my guns.  My snow model is projecting the highest totals in the High Desert and Cajon Pass since 2008, making this a once in every 10-15 year storm system.  The images below are zoomed in and easy to see your area and the key for the snow amount on my model.

Very similar to the Thanksgiving system, snow-levels were ONLY projected at 4,000 FT but went much lower than that.   So I had to keep that in mind and use the thanksgiving storm algorithm to work with an offshore flow component into the surface low itself and out popped very high numbers in spots.
