Issued States:  ND/SD/IA/MN/WI/IL/MI

Site:  National Weather Force has issued a Winter Storm Watch effective Friday into Saturday …

Date:  1/14/20 at 8:50am CT

Forecast: A strong system coming into the area starting Friday for MN and sliding east through the watch area through Saturday will impact the area with a high travel risk of snow, according to the NWF Snow Travel Risk Model this far out.  This means that heavy snow in a short period of time is likely to happen in the Winter Storm Watch areas.

Snow amounts this far out are always fickle, however the model doesn’t tell you amounts that can change from day to day .. instead it gives an average risk of what to expect based off a 3-day prior period so it is the most accurate system available.  Snow Amounts will be given the day before the event, but this stands as a Winter Storm Watch here at National Weather Force.
