Flood Watch

by
106Shares

Issued Zones:  All San Bernardino, RIverside, San Diego, and Imperial County Desert Zones …Las Vegas

Site:  Southern California Weather Force has issued a Flood Watch effective Thursday and Thursday overnight …

Date: 3/10/20 at 5:30pm PT

Forecast: Major Pacific Storm Gavin is hitting the area today, however today in many spots is only an appetizer of what should happen on Thursday.  As the system moves south of the area, backing southeast and east flow around the northern side of it will usher in copious amounts of moisture and thus this watch zone will explode with heavy rainfall.

Because I am detecting a lot of thunderstorm dynamics, this watch will be upgraded to a thunderstorm watch should trends continue.

Areas in San Bernardino County to Las Vegas will hold onto the rainfall on Thursday, overnight.   A Flood Watch means that conditions are favorable for flooding with heavy rainfall in a short period of time.
