Thunderstorm Watch

194Shares

Issued Zones:  Northern Kern Mountains … Kern Deserts … Eastern half of LA Deserts … High Desert Metro and State-line … Eastern San Bernardino Mountains to Morongo Basin …

Site:  Southern California Weather Force has issued a Thunderstorm Watch effective now through the evening …

Date:  6/26/20 at 11:00am PT

Forecast: An upper level low moving over the area will work with warmer air in the low levels to push instability upwards this afternoon and evening.  Thunderstorms are expected to form in hit and miss fashion, with activity moving generally from northwest to southeast and 10 to 15 mph.  Storms today will have little rain.

The SCWF Monsoon Forecast Model indicates the most concentrate zones will be the Northern Kern Mountains round Lake Isabella through the Kern Desert areas, with the CA/NV border coming in as well for a concentrated zone.  Remember these are hit and miss so you either will get it, or very close to the development zones in the model below… all storms will die at sunset with the loss of heating.  Blowing Sand/Dust is possible with thunderstorm outflow.

NOTE: I am NOT allowing new sign-ups paying for the SCWF alert system at this time. I am redoing the system over the Summer and offering free service till October 1st. This is because this Summer is either close… or keep open come the next storm season due to a post COVID-19 economy.
