The California Fault Stress Model is at another breathing effect and we’ve had a small 3.3 in the Riverside Mountains, but Project DESTINI is still in the upper stress limits.  This is still due to the Salton Sea quake so the watch remains and read on for details.

The Earthquake Watch was issued here at Southern California Weather Force the evening of the 4.4 magnitude quake in the Salton Sea areas.  After the watch was issued a near 5.0 quake did hit the same region, thus this watch already did serve its original purpose.  I expected the California Fault Stress Model to start to calm down, including Project DESTINI, but they remain elevated.  The elevation still means we can have 4s and 5s in the region so always remember that.

California Fault Stress Model pattern is returning to what is called a ‘Breathing Effect’, in-which the detection shows ULF waves on the rise and then fall each day, which means the crust is breathing up and down, and can lead to additional seismic activity.  This is the main monitoring right now and there isn’t much to say.
