Nipping at the heels of the current Santa Ana Wind Event will be another event with a dry upper level low dropping out of due north and to the south of the region after the weekend.  When will the current event end and the next event begin?  Southern California Weather Force has issued another Santa Ana Wind Watch for after the weekend so read on for details.

The current Santa Ana Wind Event is about to wind down.  Strong and damaging winds hit parts of the region overnight, with the highest observed near Banning, Below The Cajon Pass, The Santa Ana Mountains, Ventura County, and the San Diego Foothill/Mountain areas.  The event will wind down through this afternoon and the Santa Ana Wind Warning will expire.  Dry weather will continue through the next couple of days, however the winds will not be above advisory level after this evening, so that is an ounce of good news.

What is not good news is that an upper level low will drop down south of here, having moving directly over the forecast area after the weekend.  This dry upper level low will create a north wind based Santa Ana Wind Event around Monday or so and then a day later an east wind based Santa Ana Wind Event to open back up the San Diego County risk once again.

The continued dry air in the area will keep the High Desert areas freezing each night for an extended period of time.
