Pacific Storm Daimyo will start off as a category three with room to obtain category four status if thunderstorm dynamics remain in play along with gusty winds along the main frontal zone Sunday night. (in feudal Japan) One of the great lords who were vassals of the shogun is what Daimyo is. The SCWF Thunderstorm Risk Model ran this afternoon and it paints a front moving through Ventura County first, but really gaining strength as it hits the Los Angeles County zones, south into Orange County and even San Diego County this time. The front will move through Ventura around the 11pm hour on Sunday night, and quickly into LA/OC after midnight Monday morning .. moving through the early morning before sunrise and out of here through the SD/IE areas.
The map above shows the yellow color as outskirts thunderstorm chances, the red-zone is where the main dynamics will be. It covers a huge population so there shouldn’t be anyone not being woken up by this round.
A Thunderstorm Statement means that conditions are being monitored for the issuance of a full Thunderstorm Watch for numerous lightning strikes in or around the watch area. This decision will be made on Monday evening.
