Starlink Satellite Train To Cross Directly Over Southern California Tonight at 8:15pm, May 10, 2021

SpaceX’s Starlink 25 and 26 constellation is due to cross directly over Southern California tonight in what will be over 60 satellites visible following each other by seconds across the Big Dipper.  Read on for details …

Last week, many sightings of a line of star-like objects following each other made local headlines.  Tonight, it will happen again so if you missed the last one, here is your chance.

The satellites will cross the Big Dipper as seen from the Inland Empire, crossing directly over Big Bear Lake towards the end.  The start time to look is around 8:15 pm, but be out by 8:13 pm.  They will go from northwest to southeast.  Starlink is SpaceX’s internet service they are building, with a vast network of satellites spanning the planet.  The reason these look like they are in a row is that it is a recent launch.  These were launched six days ago so they have yet to park into their final orbits, hence why they are following each other.

The angle of the Sun may make it likely they will flare brighter at times …
