Issued Zones:  Eastern San Bernardino County Deserts … Las Vegas Metro …

Site:  Southern California Weather Force has issued a Thunderstorm Watch effective now through this evening

Date:  6/24/21 at 8:25am PT

Forecast: An upper level low off the California Coast will continue to bring a zonal flow across the region.  Departing moisture out of metro Southern California has created a mid-level dryline in the Eastern San Bernardino County Deserts, up to Las Vegas.  Storms will form along this boundary and spread eastward with time, which includes risk for Needles and Las Vegas Metro this afternoon and evening.  Storm development is expected between 11 am and 12 pm today, going through the afternoon.

Travel on I-15 and I-40 must be met with caution.  At times, these will cause flooding, especially on rural desert roads like Highway 95.

Hail larger than a half-inch is also possible today as some approach severe limits.

10 mile rule:  These alerts issued on this site means that within your zone and 10 miles from you will see the event forecast for.  You may or may not see the event but it means you are in the zone or 10 miles from where someone will.
