Southern California Weather Force has issued a Thunderstorm Watch effective this evening and going through the entire night, ending at sunrise on Wednesday for the Kern County Valleys, Cuddy Valley to Gorman, and the eastern half of San Luis Obispo County.
An upper-level low pressure center will rotate into the watch area this evening. Strong upper divergence and higher instability will be present along with increasing mid-level moisture. Given this, numerous thunderstorms are expected to pop-up in the forecast region, mostly concentrated within the shaded zone in the article image above.
