May 2017 Long Range Weather Forecast

Here it is .. .Your May 2017 forecast for Southern California …

Latest numbers are in and May 2017 looks to be warmer than average … with cutoff lows for a risk of storms during the first part of the month.  Read on for more.

During the beginning of May, expecting after the 6th being a cutoff low scenario.  We go from ridge to trough over Las Vegas and this does promote a blocking feature for several days.  As a system gets blocked over the area between May 6-12, a cutoff feature would pump moisture into the area.  Given the upper level divergence … this could be when we get some thunderstorm activity in the forecast area.

Memorial Day Weekend looks warm … so if you have plans like I do … it looks like a real good weekend to get away …

This is a preliminary forecast … as members you will get a more detailed forecast of the upcoming cutoff low pattern in a few days.  Stay tuned …
