The Southern California Weather Central.com Lightning Forecast Model is a model that is experimental. This model will attempt to predict areas that lightning may strike. It will have a tough time on elevated events or events that may happen during unexpected areas of lift that come in, which we call mesoscale lift zones.
NOTE: It does not predict later night or early morning events at the moment. There will be another map below that … that may be able to do it in the future.
