SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA WEATHER FORCE MAIN:
So far, the Raiden Storm Pattern has delivered as promised with low elevation snowfall, damaging winds, and torrential downpours. This will peak overnight tonight and through Saturday. The Grapevine along the I-5 corridor shutdown this morning, as further predicted here at Southern California Weather Force. The next pass to be affected at peak will be the Cajon Pass, mostly overnight tonight, and peaking through Saturday. Heavy snowfall and blizzard conditions will be the story up there, possibly even causing a full closure similar to the Grapevine today.
THUNDERSTORMS: As the cold core section of the peak pattern comes in on Saturday, higher instability due to the higher sun angle will work into the metro zones and cause the elevated risk of widespread thunderstorms. Thunderstorms on Saturday will have damaging winds along a squall-line, along with post-frontal zones that could produce a tornado risk, hail, and flood hazard in and around the watch areas.
LONG RANGE: The last of the current Raiden Storm Pattern will be toward the 1st day of March, in-which renewed precipitation will hit again, along with pass level snowfall. We take a break from then before renewing a separate storm pattern around March 5th onward.
